Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Design Engineer to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a Quality Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and managing the quality design and build procedures for our high-performance PET instrument.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define the scope of quality design problems in a structured way, working closely with principal investigators to identify key issues and develop procedures to implement mechanical components into the system.
  • Deliver a consolidated quality design, creating well-defined procedures and system options, and choosing the optimal architecture that leverages existing technology.
  • Establish milestones to implement components and ensure good and up-to-date documentation of the architecture and implementation.
  • Drive the accepted implementation of quality design, explaining methods and convincing other members of the team of the chosen approach.
  • Perform validation and verification, working with other members of the team, including physicists and hardware engineers, to test the implementation of quality design procedures.
  • Participate in the definition of System Requirements Specification, write the functional requirement and specification for features, and ensure it is reviewed and approved.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree and 5 to 7 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • Experience with nuclear medicine imaging, PET technology, electrical and hydraulic systems, industry standards for mechanical design and control processes, quality and regulatory product development of medical equipment, engineering change management controls, and writing QMS SOPs.
  • Team skills, working with a multi-disciplinary group of physicists, engineers, and physicians.
