Job Summary
Responsible for the upkeep and repair of non-power block systems, structures, and components to facilitate site operations. This role involves maintaining and repairing facilities and equipment to ensure efficient site functionality. The technician will ensure that maintenance and repair tasks are executed in a cost-effective and timely manner, fostering a safe and productive environment for all personnel. Key responsibilities include managing potable water systems, sewer systems, non-power block systems, fire protection systems, and the maintenance of tools and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct material handling tasks utilizing forklifts and large equipment.
- Perform plumbing repairs and upgrades in various areas including kitchens, laboratories, restrooms, and offices.
- Manage sewer systems, including sewage ejectors and lift stations.
- Oversee compressors, including repair, replacement, and preventive maintenance.
- Test and perform preventive maintenance on eye wash stations.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on shop and laboratory equipment.
- Execute installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of floors, walls, ceilings, doors, windows, furniture, cabinets, shelves, tables, kitchen equipment, and minor roof repairs.
- Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on mechanical components such as fire protection sprinkler systems, air lines, pumps, motors, and valves.
Basic Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to operate forklifts and large equipment safely and efficiently, with at least one year of experience.
- Proficient in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with customers, vendors, management, and support personnel.
- Experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical components in industrial or commercial settings.
- Eligibility for Nuclear Plant Access and Radiation Worker clearance.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
- Familiarity with manufacturer manuals, drawings, and procedures.
Work Schedule:
This position requires a 40-hour work week, Monday through Thursday, operating 10-hour days. Flexibility to support on-call duties and extended hours as necessary.
