Job Title: Nurse Practitioner

Long Island Community Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with our medical team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner to provide primary and specialty care to our patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess and reassess patients to identify their medical needs and develop individualized care plans.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and provide treatments as needed.
  • Document patient information and maintain accurate records.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program approved by the State of New York.
  • Current NP certification from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
  • Bachelor's and Master's degrees in nursing.
  • Current New York State license as a registered nurse and NP.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Current Pediatric Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Current Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification.
  • Current National Institute of Health stroke scale (NIHSS) training certification.
  • Current New York State prescription privilege.
  • Current DEA number.
  • Current New York State Infection Control training certification.
  • Completed Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) online training.
  • Current certification by the American Vascular Association (AVA).
  • Current member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
  • Current member of the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York State (NPA).
