Job Summary:

The Medical Support Specialist provides administrative support to patients, families, and healthcare staff at WakeMed. This role involves ensuring efficient customer service delivery and supporting the Patient & Family Centered Care model. The Specialist works under the direction of the Registered Nurse and collaborates with patients and families to deliver care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports patients and families in making informed decisions about their care
  • Communicates effectively with healthcare staff to ensure seamless care delivery
  • Participates in the development and implementation of patient care plans
  • Assists with administrative tasks to maintain accurate patient records

Requirements:

  • 1 year of experience in healthcare preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college courses in nurse aide or related field preferred
  • Nurse Aide I certification required

Work Schedule:

7:00 am - 7:00 pm, with occasional weekend and evening shifts as needed
