Your Impact at SAMAs a Geomatics Instrument Operator, you will play a crucial role in supporting our crew in their daily operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Operating and maintaining land survey equipment, including tripods, tribrachs, levels, total stations, and GNSS receivers.
- Assisting in the completion of field surveys under the supervision of a Crew Chief.
- Utilizing survey controllers and software to collect geospatial data and perform survey computations.
- Reading and interpreting various types of maps and plans.
- Completing neat and orderly field notes for land survey operations.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid, current driver's license.
- One year of industry experience.
- Knowledge of the principles and performance of basic types of surveys, survey computations, and field operations.
- The ability to work continually outside in all types of weather conditions and terrain.
- The ability to work out of town, in remote locations, for extended periods of time.
