Your Impact at SAM

As a Geomatics Instrument Operator, you will play a crucial role in supporting our crew in their daily operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operating and maintaining land survey equipment, including tripods, tribrachs, levels, total stations, and GNSS receivers.
  • Assisting in the completion of field surveys under the supervision of a Crew Chief.
  • Utilizing survey controllers and software to collect geospatial data and perform survey computations.
  • Reading and interpreting various types of maps and plans.
  • Completing neat and orderly field notes for land survey operations.
What You Bring to SAM

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid, current driver's license.
  • One year of industry experience.
  • Knowledge of the principles and performance of basic types of surveys, survey computations, and field operations.
  • The ability to work continually outside in all types of weather conditions and terrain.
  • The ability to work out of town, in remote locations, for extended periods of time.
