Job Summary:

The Calibration Technician will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating physical and electronic fixtures, instruments, and systems used in product testing. This role requires the ability to operate standard and special test equipment in accordance with prescribed procedures, practices, and specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of technical requirements for calibration and a proven track record of working with electronic test equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate physical and electronic test equipment to perform troubleshooting and repair duties.

• Set up test fixtures in accordance with established procedures.

• Identify and report errors in drawings, schematics, prints, manuals, procedures, and other documentation.

• Interface with engineers to resolve problems and assist in writing test procedures.

• Devise calibration methods, equipment set-ups, and writing procedures as required.

• Communicate with customers and provide feedback on technical requirements and specifications.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior calibration experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior calibration experience.

• U.S. Citizenship or status as a U.S. Person.

• Ability to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information and meet the requirement for single citizenship.

Preferred Skills:

• Calibration and instrumentation experience in a laboratory environment.

• General knowledge of technical requirements for the calibration of measuring and test equipment (ANSI-Z540).

• Basic knowledge of all calibrated equipment and ability to calibrate all tools and working knowledge of drawing interpretation.

• Knowledge of physical and electronic metrology principles and practices and ability to work with all types of electronic test equipment.

• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, ability to read circuit schematics, and ability to solder are desired.
