About the Role
InsideHigherEd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director to join our team in the area of student recruitment. As a key member of our admissions team, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining relationships with high schools, counselors, and students to ensure a strong and diverse applicant pool for our freshman class.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment Strategy Development
- Develop and implement a comprehensive recruitment strategy to attract and enroll a diverse and talented freshman class.
- Collaborate with the admissions team to identify and prioritize recruitment targets and develop effective outreach and engagement plans.
- Network Development and Management
- Build and maintain relationships with high schools, counselors, and students to promote our institution and increase awareness of our programs.
- Develop and manage a network of part-time recruiters to support recruitment efforts in targeted regions.
- Event Planning and Execution
- Plan and execute on-campus and off-campus events to engage with prospective students and their families, including information sessions, tours, and college fairs.
- Collaborate with the events team to ensure seamless execution of events and provide excellent customer service to attendees.
- Application Review and Evaluation
- Review and evaluate applications for admission, including complex cases, to determine eligibility and make recommendations for admission.
- Collaborate with the admissions team to ensure accurate and timely processing of applications.
- Reporting and Analysis
- Develop and maintain reports to track recruitment metrics and analyze data to inform recruitment strategies.
- Provide regular updates and insights to the admissions team and senior leadership on recruitment progress and trends.
Requirements
- Education
- Bachelor's degree in higher education, education, or a related field.
- Experience
- Five years of progressive experience in undergraduate student recruitment or a related field.
- Three years of supervisory experience.
- Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with high schools, counselors, and students.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong understanding of higher education recruitment principles and practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education
- Master's degree in higher education or a related field.
- Experience
- Proficiency in Slate or similar CRM.
- Bilingual proficiency.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position that requires occasional travel and work on weekends and evenings as needed.
