Mammography Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mammography Technologist to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a Mammography Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to our patients.

• Perform mammography procedures to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
• Position and compress patients accurately to ensure optimal image quality.
• Minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff by using shielding and correctly selecting exposure factors.
• Evaluate images for compliance with protocol, image density, contrast, detail, positioning, compression, and absence of image artifact.
• Document imaging activities accurately and consistently in accordance with ACR and federal mandates.

• Completion of a two-year American Medical Association-approved course in Radiologic Technology or other accredited and approved medical imaging program.
• Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 30 days of hire.
• Certification in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.
• Certification in Mammography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist within 18 months of hire.
