Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Food Service Manager to join our team at Universal Companies. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily operations of our food service program, ensuring consistency in service and quality of food.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service: Prepare all food according to established recipes and ensure that staff follows program guidelines.
  • Staff Supervision: Direct staff to ensure quality service and adherence to program guidelines.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure that food is ordered as needed and inventory is maintained throughout all schools.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that equipment is in good working order and all kitchens are clean.
  • Inspections and Compliance: Ensure that all schools pass their inspections and maintain compliance with program guidelines.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Demonstrate strong customer service skills and provide quality service to students and staff.
  • Event Planning: Set up serving areas during seasonal changes and attend meetings as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer.
  • Professional Development: Complete 10 hours of continued education credits per year and maintain ServSafe certifications.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in food service and training
  • Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with staff members on all levels, excellent attendance record, ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities, and ability to work effectively with others and independently.
