Job Title: Shift Coordinator - Main ED

Dayton Children's Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Coordinator to join our Emergency Department team. As a Shift Coordinator, you will play a critical role in providing clinical leadership and supervision to our unit staff, ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision to unit staff
  • Interact with providers to assist with patient flow and needs
  • Work collaboratively with the Educator and/or Clinical Nurse Specialist to meet staff educational needs
  • Assist with the orientation and training of new employees
  • Participate in the Quality Improvement Process
  • Responsible for Nurse Leader rounding
  • Assist with scheduling changes and adjustments to Symplr
  • Assist with performance feedback to staff
Department Specific Job Details:

Dayton Children's Hospital is home to the region's only Level 1 pediatric trauma center. Our Emergency Department staff specializes in caring for critically ill and injured children, with two convenient locations. Our main campus Emergency Department includes 47 treatment rooms, with an average census of 200 patients per day.

Requirements:
  • BSN from an accredited program of nursing required
  • 2 years of Pediatric Emergency Department experience required
  • Excellent communication, computer, and customer service skills required
  • RN licensure in State of Ohio required
  • CPR Certification required
  • PALS Certification required
  • Professional certification within 3 years of hire required
