Job Overview:
The Industrial Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in the installation, repair, and upkeep of large-scale textile processing machinery and facility systems. Responsibilities include executing start-up and shut-down protocols, conducting electrical diagnostics, managing boiler operations, and performing welding, cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical tasks. This position reports directly to the Chief Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, repair, and conduct preventative maintenance on industrial processing equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues.
  • Respond promptly to daily maintenance requests to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Provide emergency repairs for production machinery as needed.
  • Diagnose issues, replace or repair components, test, and adjust machinery.
  • Identify opportunities for ongoing improvement in maintenance processes.
  • Collaborate with all plant personnel in a professional and cooperative manner.
  • Adhere strictly to safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain technical expertise through educational workshops and technical literature.
  • Review blueprints and manufacturer manuals to understand machinery operations.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics accurately.
  • Keep detailed and timely records of maintenance activities.
  • Follow both written and verbal instructions and perform additional tasks as assigned.
  • Comply with all applicable Federal, State, and local regulations.

Additional Duties:
  • Assist and collaborate with other branch personnel as directed.
  • Transport parts and equipment as necessary.

Qualifications:
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • At least two years of experience in maintenance engineering, with expertise in machinery, electrical systems, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and boiler operations.
  • Proficient in using both power and hand tools.
  • Strong skills in troubleshooting 3-phase 230-volt electrical systems.
  • Experience with PLC programming.
  • Knowledge in carpentry, boiler maintenance, welding, and general facility repairs.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to follow directions and perform basic math.
  • A team player with enthusiasm, initiative, and a commitment to quality work.

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Some locations may require relevant certifications, such as a boiler license or PLC programming credentials.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, reach, twist, kneel, and work in confined spaces.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs and moving equipment weighing up to 500 lbs.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and hearing.

Work Environment:
Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor settings typical of an industrial laundry facility, involving exposure to large machinery, temperature variations, noise, odors, humidity, lint, and dust.

Travel Requirements:
Occasional travel may be necessary to procure parts.
