Role Objective:
The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Specialist is to ensure the optimal functioning of mechanical systems and equipment. This includes conducting repairs, maintenance, and inspections of both machinery and facility systems, including electrical and HVAC components.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections, repairs, and refurbishments of machinery and equipment using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including monitoring motors, drives, and belts, checking fluid levels, and replacing filters as part of preventive maintenance protocols.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and determine corrective actions by referencing blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
- Utilize tools such as hammers, hoists, drills, and precision measuring instruments to repair machines and structures.
- Experience in forklift repair and maintenance is advantageous.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and urgent maintenance needs beyond routine tasks.
- Maintain a detailed log of maintenance activities and schedule future services as required.
- Analyze information to make informed decisions and solve mechanical problems effectively.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent, with a combination of relevant experience and education.
- A minimum of 5 years of related experience in maintenance roles.
- In-depth knowledge of building and construction practices, including HVAC and electrical systems up to 500 volts.
- Strong analytical skills to assess processes and identify performance metrics.
- A commitment to continuous learning and skill development in technical areas.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods, as well as climb ladders and work at heights.
- Capable of lifting up to 45 lbs and maintaining vision or corrected vision of 20-20.
- Attention to detail and a strong desire to produce high-quality work.
- Exposure to various environmental conditions, including temperature changes and physical hazards.
- Ability to work in loud environments and under atmospheric conditions such as fumes and dust.
