Compensation:
$170,000 DOE

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel by evaluating options for favorable outcomes and devising actionable plans
  • Prepare necessary legal documents for clients, including briefs, motions, pleadings, and correspondence
  • Represent clients in court and advocate for motions during legal proceedings
  • Assess client needs, identify solutions, and formulate case strategies
  • Oversee administrative staff, paralegals, and law clerks
  • Manage a docket while proactively handling pre-litigation and litigation matters
  • Conduct depositions, mediations, trial preparations, trials, and hearings
  • Handle motions and discovery processes
  • Develop case strategies
  • Negotiate with insurance adjusters and opposing counsel
  • Draft motions and petitions
  • Report on case progress and quarterly key performance indicators
  • All attorneys are expected to uphold legal operations consistent with the firm's mission and values

Qualifications:

  • Active membership in the local bar association is required
  • Strong decision-making, public speaking, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a law firm setting is required
  • Able to work independently while managing multiple cases
  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school; client representation experience of at least 2 years is preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Preferred experience in litigation and trial settings
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Excellent analytical and legal writing capabilities
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments
  • Effective and thorough communication skills
  • Outstanding writing proficiency
  • Willingness to seek and implement feedback while collaborating with a team
  • Good standing with the State Bar of Texas
  • Commitment to maintaining a balanced and healthy lifestyle
