Truck Service Manager Job Summary

TravelCenters of America is seeking a highly skilled Truck Service Manager to lead our team of technicians and oversee the operations of our truck service profit center. As a Truck Service Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring excellent customer service, coaching and performance managing team members, recruiting and hiring new employees, and achieving financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of technicians to provide fast and friendly customer service, good product knowledge, and an up-beat atmosphere.
  • Develop a trusting atmosphere that encourages team members and guests to provide feedback, and coach and performance manage team members according to company policy.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and retain highly motivated employees, and create a culture where employees feel respected and recognized for their achievements.
  • Coach team members in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers in a professional and accommodating manner.
  • Conduct visual inspections to ensure all products and services are available.
  • Be responsible for achieving financial objectives through effective management of people, product, service, and facility processes.
  • Lead all aspects of payroll, accounting, inventory, and personnel documentation procedures to ensure accuracy and timeliness in reporting and compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Adhere to safety standards and abide by standards of operation, and follow company guidelines on vendor relationships.
Requirements:
  • A leader who sets the example when working alongside team members.
  • High School Diploma (or GED) required; Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in convenience store, truck service, travel center, or other related business activity.
  • Proficient planning and analytical skills, able to achieve positive financial results.
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present business action plans and operational reports to management.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays, in interior and exterior conditions.
  • A valid driver's license required.
