About the Role

This part-time position, located onsite at Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura, CA, requires a Patient Access Specialist to ensure smooth revenue cycle management. The successful candidate will work closely with hospital departments and physician practices to resolve issues and analyze necessary information for hospital reimbursement.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have one year of experience in Patient Access/Revenue Cycle/Medical Billing/Financial Counseling or Customer Service. A high school graduate or equivalent is required, while an Associate's degree and/or Revenue Cycle certifications are desirable. Additionally, a basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite offerings and experience within a hospital or clinic environment are highly valued.

Responsibilities
  • Reviews and collects demographic and insurance information to address customers' authorization requirements and identify financial issues.
  • Verifies patient eligibility from third-party payers and portals, as well as online services.
  • Collections and analyzes demographic, insurance, and other information to ensure financial clearance of scheduled procedures/services.
  • Screens health plans for missing/pending information and notifies clinical partners accordingly.
  • Contacting insurance companies to meet prior approval requirements.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of experience in Patient Access/Revenue Cycle/Medical Billing/Financial Counseling or Customer Service.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or Revenue Cycle certifications preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite offerings.

This part-time role offers a competitive salary range of $43,400-$65,000 annually, depending on skill sets, experience, and training.
