Overview:
The VCS Team operates as a tier 3 support unit within a vast IT infrastructure. This role demands flexibility to work in a 24/7/365 environment, including days, nights, and weekends for production modifications, alongside participation in an on-call rotation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot server performance issues, particularly with Java-based applications.
- Manage patching and troubleshooting within a controlled environment.

Required Expertise:
- Proficient in Infoscale versions 7.4.2 and 8.
- Administration of high-availability clusters utilizing Veritas Infoscale.
- Experience with VXVM/VXFS Storage and Filesystem management.
- Daily systems administration tasks.
- User administration (setuser).
- SAN replication management.

Strong Background Required:
  • Extensive experience with Solaris 11.4, including OS-level patching and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in shell and Perl scripting.
  • Familiarity with LDOMS configuration.
  • Knowledge of ZFS/VDEVS.
  • Daily systems administration experience.
  • Cron job setup and management.
  • SAN connectivity expertise.
  • Routing over multiple interfaces.
  • SSHD configuration skills.
  • Experience with RHEL7/RHEL8.
  • VMWare/VCenter for RHEL VM management.

Familiarity with:
  • Remedy for incident management.
  • Tripwire IDS.
  • BladeLogic Server Management.
  • Process-driven environments, including Change Management.
  • Ansible automation.
  • Sendmail configuration.
  • Participation in on-call rotations.

Expectations:
The successful candidate will assist in annual audits, manage incident resolution, and effectively plan and execute changes following documented processes. In the event of issues, involvement in troubleshooting performance, network connectivity, port availability, and process detection during live conference calls with team members is expected.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in VCS/Solaris environments, RHEL7/8, and Remedy.

Proficiency in MS Office:
- Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Strong critical thinking and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
