The EHS Manager is accountable for cultivating a workplace culture that prioritizes employee safety. This role involves enhancing health and safety protocols while ensuring the environmental sustainability of the facility. The EHS Manager will oversee Trelleborg's EHS Program, ensuring adherence to relevant Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations. Additionally, this position will manage all safety initiatives, conduct accident investigations, and implement corrective actions, alongside fulfilling all governmental reporting obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and ensure compliance with Trelleborg's EHS program requirements.
  • Establish and manage an on-site safety committee, providing necessary follow-up actions.
  • Develop, enforce, and maintain comprehensive safety protocols and initiatives.
  • Oversee all environmental compliance and reporting, including EPA submissions and safety data sheet management.
  • Provide specialized support across various departments, including Supplier Selection, Purchasing, Operations, and Design.
  • Encourage the sharing and implementation of best operational practices.
  • Conduct safety audits, meetings, and inspections to evaluate compliance and identify necessary corrective actions.
  • Design and implement preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs.
  • Maintain and update the Emergency Action Plan, serving as the primary contact for incident notifications and accident investigations.
  • Manage project cost controls and maintain budget records.
  • Assist in the adherence to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and AS9100 certifications, including internal and external audits.
  • Conduct emergency response drills and schedule safety training sessions.
  • Implement and oversee all mandated safety programs and take ownership of safety-related tasks.
  • Monitor lost-time injuries and worker's compensation claims.
  • Ensure compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Safety Requirements

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and shoes must be worn in manufacturing areas.
  • No jewelry or loose clothing is permitted in manufacturing areas.
  • Compliance with established safety procedures is mandatory.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Work Environment

The employee primarily operates in a standard office setting. While in the manufacturing area, exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and high noise levels may occur. The role may require performing various duties to ensure production quality and safety standards are met.

Physical Demands

The physical demands required for this position include regular communication, standing, walking, and using hands for various tasks. Lifting may be required occasionally, and assistance should be sought for heavier items.

Position Type

This is a full-time position with a standard day shift, typically Monday through Friday, with hours subject to business needs.

Education and Experience Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in safety science, engineering, occupational safety, environmental sciences, industrial hygiene, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in environmental health and safety coordination within a manufacturing context.

Preferred Qualifications

OSHA training and EHS certification are preferred.
