We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodian II to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of our buildings and grounds.
Key Responsibilities- Cleaning and Sanitation: Perform moderately complex custodial work, including cleaning and disinfecting interior and exterior surfaces, vacuuming, stripping, waxing, and burnishing floors, and cleaning windows.
- Waste Management: Collect and dispose of trash, medical waste, and hazardous waste in accordance with hospital Infection Control Policies and Joint Commission Standards.
- Facilities Maintenance: Assist with moving furniture and equipment, setting up conference rooms, and performing periodic inventories for the EVS department.
- Team Leadership: May act as an interim team leader or lead worker, attending mandatory training as assigned.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures, proper handling and disposal of medical waste and hazardous waste, and Infection Control Policies and Standards.
- Communication: Ability to read, write, and understand English to effectively communicate and carry out verbal/written instructions.
- Teamwork: Ability to follow instructions and communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
