About the Role

CarMax is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Specialist. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience by guiding customers through every step of their car-buying journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service by building rapport with customers and understanding their needs.
  • Conduct vehicle condition assessments and communicate information to buyers to facilitate customer appraisals.
  • Check in and receive vehicles, complete daily scanning and reconciliation of vehicle inventory, and perform cosmetic inspections to ensure vehicles meet CarMax Quality Standards.
  • Perform various administrative duties, including printing daily reports, maintaining transaction paperwork, and contacting finance companies regarding customer contracts.
  • Create service appointments and review repair order invoices for retail service work performed.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Display confidence in self, the product, and CarMax, and balance the needs of the customer and the business when making decisions.
  • Seek to fully understand and meet customer needs, and create win-win solutions to customer issues.
  • Get work done well, on time, and follow the right process, and drive work processes and pay close attention to detail.
  • Perform multiple duties in a high-energy, fast-paced working environment, and read, interpret, and transcribe data to maintain accurate records.
