Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance rail operations efficiency and effectiveness
  • Oversee the planning and execution of railcar needs across multiple sites, ensuring alignment with the organization's supply chain strategy
  • Manage coordination activities to meet loading and unloading requirements, ensuring timely communication and effective mitigation strategies
  • Lead and participate in governance meetings to review performance, strategy, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide leadership during critical rail-related events, ensuring timely communication and effective mitigation strategies
  • Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of rail operations
  • Ensure adherence to SLA standards and reporting for KPIs, SLAs, and Stewardship initiatives
  • Provide regular updates to executive leadership on the status of rail operations and any critical issues
  • Conduct Root Cause Investigations and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues
  • Hire, train, and develop a high-performing team of Site Rail Coordinators and Supervisors
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to team members
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, problem solving, and operational excellence within the team
  • Develop and implement annual Hub operations budget
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in logistics, transportation, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in leadership role in rail operations or logistics management (5+ years preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of rail industry regulations and safety standards
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing strategic initiatives
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in the use of logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
