PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: This position is centered around the commissioning and upkeep of electrical and electronic systems. Responsibilities encompass all necessary tasks to effectively commission equipment and facilities.

KEY OBJECTIVES OF THE JOB: Uphold a strong commitment to safety; conduct commissioning activities on electrical systems within Oil and Gas production environments. Additional responsibilities include installation, repair, and compliance with policies and operational methods.

RESPONSIBILITIES

CRITICAL SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES: Comprehend and adhere to Wood's Safety Policies and Procedures throughout the project. Personal and team safety awareness is paramount.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspect, commission, repair, and troubleshoot electrical systems.
  • Implement commissioning procedures for electrical tasks.
  • Review Mechanically Complete Subsystem packages from Construction.
  • Manage Punch Lists for subsystems/systems.
  • Complete project documentation.
  • Interpret project drawings and equipment manuals.
  • Maintain and repair switchgear.
  • Install and maintain cathodic protection systems.
  • Commission lighting and control systems.
  • Set safety switches and maintain records.
  • Analyze and resolve work-related issues.
  • Manage equipment records and parts inventory.
  • Coordinate with other departments.
  • Foster positive relationships within the organization.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Adhere to Permit to Work procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATIONS: We are looking for a motivated self-starter with robust problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills. Candidates should possess a comprehensive understanding of midstream oil and gas processing facilities, including:
  • Electrical theory and work methodologies.
  • Regulations governing electrical installations and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of electrical generation and distribution.
  • Ability to interpret schematic diagrams and lighting systems.
  • Experience with power systems and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Turbine Generator Start-up and Diesel Engine driven Emergency Generators.
  • Familiarity with switchgear controls and HVAC systems.
  • Understanding of variable frequency drives and control systems.
  • Knowledge of Permit to Work systems and safety protocols.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 5 years of experience in commissioning electrical systems within the Oil and Gas or Petrochemical sectors is required, preferably with midstream/downstream exposure.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Relevant Electrical Technician certifications or a Higher National Certificate in Engineering are mandatory.
