Position Overview

Job Title: Mammography Imaging Specialist

Department: Imaging Services

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

****$10,000 SIGN ON BONUS****

This bonus is applicable to full-time new hires only.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate high-quality mammography images for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Ensure patient safety by applying appropriate exposure and protective techniques.
  • Provide education and clarity regarding procedures to patients.
  • Adhere to departmental protocols for procedures unless directed otherwise by the Radiologist.
  • Collect and document patient history and relevant information accurately.
  • Confirm proper patient identification and demographics in the PACS system.
  • Engage with attending Radiologists and validate provider orders.
  • Comply with infection control standards specific to patient care.
  • Organize and prioritize work assignments, adapting to changing business needs.
  • Operate medical imaging equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain awareness of Radiation Safety Procedures for self and others.
  • Conduct routine quality control checks to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
  • Follow established protocols for producing screening and diagnostic mammograms.
  • Adhere to regulatory guidelines and perform QA/QC as required by ACR/MQSA.
  • Implement mammography procedures for needle localizations and stereotactic biopsies as necessary.
General Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate knowledge and adherence to safety, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Exhibit organizational skills, self-motivation, and efficiency while collaborating effectively in a team environment.
  • Deliver compassionate patient care with a focus on satisfaction.
  • Uphold ALARA principles while ensuring quality and safe patient imaging.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Participate in departmental meetings as required.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies (ARRT) (R) required.
  • Advanced registry in Mammography (M) required.
  • Current state Radiographer License in good standing is mandatory.
  • Current BLS certification is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in Mammography is essential.
  • Proficient communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record Systems, RIS, and PACS is necessary.
