About the Role

Abbott Laboratories is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Associate to join our Diabetes Care team. As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for growing sales with healthcare professionals (HCPs) assigned to your territory, developing customer relationships, and strengthening overall market presence.

This is a field-sales opportunity that requires a strong understanding of the healthcare industry and excellent communication skills. You will be an ambassador for Abbott's FreeStyle products, working closely with HCPs to provide education and support on the benefits of our glucose monitoring systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet or exceed sales quotas/objectives for the FreeStyle Libre portfolio
  • Leverage company-generated targets to prospect for new business and close for new sales in expanded marketplaces
  • Collaborate with various channel partners within HCP, Managed Care, Retail, and Point of Care organizations
  • Establish strong relationships with a broad base of internal and external healthcare constituents (e.g., physicians, nurses, pharmacists, CDEs, etc.)
  • Act with a sense of purpose and urgency, engaging in a friendly, respectful manner, and focusing on the needs and interests of others
  • Keep current on internal and competitive products and positioning by utilizing a variety of resources
  • Develop proficiency in the Company's sales model to ensure product adoption and utilization along the buying cycle
  • Understand and convey information professionally and accurately
  • Develop business plans based on current trends and goals that include short and long-term actions
  • Keep current in market trends and competitors' strategies
  • Deliver sales results as assigned in primary care markets, focusing on driving broad awareness and education of CGM and the FreeStyle Libre brand
  • Position products and services using appropriate resources, using confident, convincing logic
  • Tailor sales approaches to meet customer needs by utilizing appropriate resources
  • Handle objections and explore perspectives and tactfully address them
  • Develop and implement plans (e.g., territory, account, and call) that include goals, action plans, time frames, and resources
  • Convey information clearly and concisely, responding to others and listening carefully to understand the message
  • Regularly track and report progress against plans, redirecting efforts as necessary
  • Complete all administrative tasks accurately and in a timely fashion
  • Document daily, weekly, and monthly activities using a call reporting/tracking system
  • Maintain accountability for all samples in accordance with Division guidelines
  • Work within quality guidelines established for compliance
  • Implement and maintain the effectiveness of the quality system
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 1-3 years previous sales experience with a successful sales track record from previous positions
  • Excellent communication skills, high energy, integrity, and ambition to succeed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Sales experience in the healthcare industry
  • B2B sales experience
