Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at Staffing Resource Group, Inc. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for a skilled professional with a strong background in electrical engineering and a desire to work on utility and oil & gas projects.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 8 years of related work experience. They will be responsible for completing complex engineering tasks and difficult engineering work efficiently and accurately. The ideal candidate will have experience in low voltage and medium voltage heavy industrial design, substation design, transmission, and distribution line design, and ETAP modeling.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform complex engineering tasks and difficult engineering work efficiently and accurately.
  • Extract engineering information from CAD drawings.
  • Prepare engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
  • Prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
  • Review supplier drawing submittals and perform technical bid analyses.
  • Prepare and issue specifications, datasheets, and other construction documents.
  • Provide technical guidance to CAD Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
  • May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
Requirements:
  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • 8+ years of related work experience.
  • Active PE (Professional Engineer) registration in CA required, PE in another state acceptable, but must be able to obtain a CA PE within 3 months.
  • Experience in low voltage and medium voltage heavy industrial design, substation design, transmission, and distribution line design, and ETAP modeling required.
  • Working knowledge of applicable Industry Codes and Standards (e.g. NEC, ASME, ANSI, ISA, ASHRAE, IEEE, ASTM, NFPA).
  • Proficiency in utilizing software packages typically associated with Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Experience working with 480V and up.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team of engineers and designers on multiple, concurrently executed projects.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Accepts responsibility for own actions and honors commitments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to client offices, and project sites for meetings, performing inspections and walk downs, and to assist field personnel and construction team with Electrical technical issues.
  • Proficient in the use of office personal computers, office networks, and the Microsoft Office suite of software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.
