Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

Type of Role: Temp to Hire

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to work on Utility and Oil & Gas projects. This role offers opportunities for advancement with top performance and requires versatility, enthusiasm, and a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
  • Perform complex engineering tasks and difficult engineering work efficiently and accurately.
  • Extract engineering information from CAD drawings, prepare engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
  • Prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials, review supplier drawing submittals, and perform technical bid analyses.
  • Prepare and issue specifications, datasheets, and other construction documents.
  • Provide technical guidance to CAD Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
  • May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
  • May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering-related matters.
  • Experience working with 480V and up, ability to work both independently and as a member of a team of engineers and designers on multiple, concurrently executed projects.
  • Good organizational and communication skills, expresses ideas concisely and clearly, both orally and in writing.
  • Accepts responsibility for own actions and honors commitments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to client offices, other company offices, and project sites for meetings, performing inspections and walk-downs, and assisting field personnel and construction team with Electrical technical issues.
  • Proficient in the use of office personal computers, office networks, and the Microsoft Office suite of software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Skills):
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 8 years of related work experience.
  • Active Professional Engineer registration is required; if not already registered in California, must have an active PE in another state and be able to obtain California registration in 3 months.
  • Proficiency in utilizing software packages typically associated with Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Experience in low voltage and medium voltage heavy industrial design, substation design, transmission, and distribution line design, and ETAP modeling required.
  • Working knowledge of applicable Industry Codes and Standards (e.g. NEC, ASME, ANSI, ISA, ASHRAE, IEEE, ASTM, NFPA).
