Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with collecting and analyzing financial data to perform accounting processes, including reconciliation and variance reporting, account reconciliation, and financial data analysis.
  • Identify and resolve data issues, analyze financial data to identify adverse trends, and recommend solutions to mitigate financial impact.
  • Provide timely and accurate assistance to clients, including explanation of account codes and financial reports, project status reports, and guidance on accounting policies.
  • Prepare presentations, statistical reports, schedules, and other information on operating results for management and outside parties.
  • Actively participate in or support special projects, including testing system upgrades or enhancements, rate case support, and developing ad hoc reports and process improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • 1+ years of financial and accounting experience gained through employment or accounting internship(s).
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in data analytics, data visualization, and web development.
  • Proficiency in data interpretation and manipulation of large datasets.
  • Strong aptitude for correlating data and finding critical data trends.
  • Intermediate SQL programming skills - tables, complex stored procedures, functions, and views.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to translate end user needs into an IT solution.
  • Excellent organizational skills since attention to detail is critical for successful outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability and desire to obtain CPA, CISA, CDFM, or CGFM.
  • Ability to learn and apply GAAP.
Education
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting.
Security Clearance
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance or Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).
