Position Overview:

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with specialized knowledge in commercial, residential, or industrial mechanical systems, mechanical equipment, and mechanical component design and failure analysis.

This remote position allows for flexibility in work location, requiring occasional travel (local or regional).

A Professional Engineering (P.E.) license in your resident state is required.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct field investigations and failure analysis of mechanical systems and components across various sectors.
  • Analyze causes of mechanical failures, including gas-related incidents, product liability, and design defects.
  • Inspect and assess damages at residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
  • Document findings and produce detailed reports outlining the origin and cause of failures.
  • Collaborate with other experts to enhance the quality of reports and analyses.
  • Serve as an expert witness in legal proceedings.
  • Maintain accurate records of billable hours for forensic engineering projects.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution and hold a Professional Engineering (PE) license, with preference for multi-state licensing and/or an active NCEES Record.

Experience in expert witness testimony is advantageous.
