Key Responsibilities:

  • Design mechanical packaging for automotive controllers, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation, including DFMEA, DVP&R, and DRBFM.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop mechanical enclosures, meeting customer requirements and specifications.
  • Utilize CAD tools, such as SolidWorks, to create 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings.
  • Perform and support mechanical, vibration, and thermal FEA, CFD, and solder fatigue analysis using ANSYS Suite and Star-CCM+.
  • Work closely with vendors and internal teams to achieve DFM approval and ensure conformance to design specifications.
  • Generate technical reports and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Represent HITACHI ASTEMO AMERICAS, INC. in internal and customer support meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in mechanical design, with experience in electronics packaging and controller or connector design.
  • Thermal management experience and knowledge of high pressure die cast, stamped, or injection molded components.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools, such as SolidWorks, and FEA, CFD, and solder fatigue analysis software.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering problem-solving methodology and ability to analyze complex documents.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
  • 0-3 years of applicable experience in mechanical engineering and design.

Working Conditions:

  • Required to sit or stand for long periods of time, with occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
  • Domestic and international travel may be required as needed.
  • Hybrid working environment.
