Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Program Manager II to join our team at Sierra Nevada Corporation. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing oversight and guidance in all phases of business, working closely with our Product Line Director and other corporate entities to drive strategic business operations for assigned projects and programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight in all phases of business, including customer relationship management, cost and schedule planning, resource allocation and tracking, and technical execution.
  • Work closely with executive leadership and business development to identify and pursue capture opportunities that align with our portfolio strategies.
  • Manage program execution, ensuring process, procedure, and compliance are upheld, and project/program status updates are provided to stakeholders.
  • Plan, organize, and implement large, complex, strategic programs that drive business or product viability and impact across multiple disciplines, businesses, and product offerings.
  • Advance organizational strategic and business objectives through the alignment and integration of all programs and projects under your purview.
  • Support the development and oversight of process and procedure for assessing and mitigating program risk, and ensure program issues and problems are identified, tracked, and resolved.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a technical related discipline.
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education.
  • Proficient leadership abilities, including successful change management, mentoring, career development, training, succession planning, holding people accountable, and conducting yearly reviews.
  • Ability to manage complex situations, delegate authority, lead and inspire teams, drive innovative thinking, instill collaboration, drive for success, challenge the status quo, and adapt to dynamic situations.
  • Experience in team building, time management, conflict resolution, communication, briefing, presentation, strategic thinking, marketing, and literacy in program management disciplines.
  • Experience with the evaluation of requests for proposals and/or quotes, and preparing, reviewing, and submitting proposals and/or quotes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Typically 5-12 years of related experience or a Master's degree in Engineering, Aviation, or Management, and typically 5-12 years of program management experience.
  • Aviation integration experience, including jet integration, and understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFARS).
  • Working knowledge of Program Management Institute Program Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and Program Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Experience managing projects using Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), agile, and/or spiral development models, and managing projects requiring Earned Value Management.
  • Understanding of application tools and data architectures, and ability to reinforce the usage and application of Corporate PM tools.
  • Ability to lead PM process and tool improvement for the Enterprise, and ability to keep program management informed of function and process changes within project controls.
  • Ability to enhance program management expertise in the staff, and ability to establish centralized, coordinating body for PM concerns, recommendations, and issues.
  • Ability to establish new and further refining existing templates, tools, and guidelines for program documentation and execution, and experience ensuring compliance with approved Corporate and ISO 9001:2000 Policies and Processes.
