Job OverviewWe are seeking a Plant Operations Manager to join our dynamic team focused on delivering better nutrition for every step of life's journey. The successful candidate will be based in St. Johns, MI, and will work on the day shift. This permanent position reports to the Maintenance Manager and involves essential functions including maintaining plant equipment and facilities, creating and managing preventative maintenance programs, supervising maintenance personnel, coordinating facility outages and upgrades, developing solutions to plant-related problems, conducting audits, and providing performance coaching.
Salary and BenefitsThe estimated salary for this role is $75,000 - $95,000 per annum, depending on experience. Key Responsibilities- Maintain and service plant equipment and facilities to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Create, improve, manage, and expand preventative maintenance programs to prevent equipment failure and increase efficiency.
- Supervise and direct maintenance personnel with all duties, overseeing their work and providing necessary guidance.
- Coordinate facility and utility outages and upgrades, planning and managing any interruptions in utilities and overseeing facility upgrades.
- Develop solutions to plant-related problems, identifying issues in plant operations and coming up with effective solutions.
- Conduct audits to ensure employees are performing tasks according to SOPs.
- Provide performance coaching to the Maintenance Technicians, providing necessary training and guidance to enhance their performance.
- An Associate's Degree in maintenance or a related field; or a minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
