Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Vice President of Investments to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing relationships with investment and funding sources, facilitating introductions between portfolio companies and relevant funders, and overseeing the investment readiness process.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and manage relationships with investment and funding sources, including angel networks, corporate venture groups, and impact investment firms.
- Facilitate introductions between portfolio companies and relevant funders, ensuring efficient and effective connections.
- Oversee the investment readiness process, ensuring portfolio companies are prepared for investment opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Market Transformation team to develop an investment thesis for sector focus areas, aligning portfolio company recruitment and funder appetite.
- Support portfolio companies in their development and preparation of investor-facing materials and documentation.
- Manage investment readiness in support of the EWDD/CDBG grant, working with contractors and program team to deliver outputs and lead reporting.
- Provide value-add leadership to the organization, supervising and mentoring Investments Team staff members.
- Oversee the administration and management of the LACI Impact Fund, working with stakeholders to develop clear SOPs and defined roles and responsibilities.
- 10+ years of management and leadership experience, with demonstrated progressive responsibilities.
- 7+ years of investment/finance experience, with a deep understanding of the investment landscape and investor network in the US.
- Experience raising capital in a startup or advising capital raises for startups is preferred.
- Experience in the cleantech, energy, or mobility/transportation sectors is preferred.
LACI offers a competitive salary range of $138-148k, commensurate with experience, education, skills, and total compensation package including health benefits, 401k match, professional development, and commuter benefits.
