Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Reliability Engineer III to join our team at Omaha Public Power District. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for driving the safe and reliable operation of our electrical generating assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement asset management plans to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our generating assets.
  • Provide technical direction and oversight for outage projects, including coordination of internal craft and external contractor work.
  • Conduct acceptance testing following major modifications or construction of new equipment or systems.
  • Perform testing and analysis to ensure compliance with regulations and project objectives.
  • Prepare feasibility studies and cost evaluations to recommend projects and inform budgeting decisions.
Requirements
  • Four-year Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree (ABET-accredited degree) or Professional Engineer (PE) certificate.
  • Four years of equivalent engineering work experience, with special projects and committees considered for experience durations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the utility industry and power generation.
  • Knowledgeable in various regulations and codes applicable to the specific engineering discipline.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication for varying audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity and experience with Ventyx (Asset Suite), Cognos, AutoDesk (CAD, Inventor, Vault), Bentley MicroStation, PeopleSoft.
  • Minor, Master's, or certification in data analysis or analytic techniques.
  • Master's degree in Engineering or Business.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT/FE) or other relevant industry-level education/certification.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 55000.
  • Applicable qualifications or certificates from Institute of Asset Management or equivalent professional body.
  • Supervisory, leadership, or management experience.
  • Strong knowledge base in power plant programs.
  • Strong knowledge base in Predictive Maintenance.
