Electromechanical Systems Commodity Manager

Responsibilities:- Lead commodity strategy for electronic mechanical systems, focusing on optical system, solar array cells system, and power modules system integration.
- Collaborate with internal teams on sourcing strategy, market analysis, and conducting trade-off analysis reviews and supplier roadmaps with engineers.
- Evaluate, assess, develop, and manage the supply base to enable quick prototype deployment from new product development to scalable production for electro-mechanical systems.
- Provide insights on industry best-in-class technology and manufacturing options with optimized supply chain setup for total cost ownership.
- Negotiate and source alternative suppliers for optical components, solar battery cells, thin glass, lithium battery technology, and electronic components purchases and miscellaneous requirements as needed.
- Analyze supplier spend, capacity, and develop overall supplier negotiation and engagement strategies.
- Develop and align commodity strategies with custom silicon & EE commodity, mechanical commodity, printed circuit boards team, and manage relationships with internal and external manufacturer and distribution partners.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or similar technical discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of procurement or supplier management experience.
- Experience in electro-mechanical systems procurement, including experience with datasheets, drawings, and blueprints.
- Experience with electronic manufacturing services (EMS), contract manufacturer (CM), manufacturer product portfolio, or raw materials.
- Knowledge of PCB manufacturing and assembly processes, domestic supply base, capabilities, and board-level commodity experience.
- Technical procurement, NPI, manufacturing, or design/development experience.
- Training and team building skills.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge and skills in current technologies and applications, ie. MS Office Suite.
- Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needs.
- Ability to travel and communicate outside of work hours.
- U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
