Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Meat Packaging Specialist to join our team at Palmer Food Services. As a key member of our packaging operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate packaging of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Package Operations: Perform the packaging operation to ensure the product meets specifications, providing efficient storage and shipment.
  • HACCP Compliance: Ensure Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points (HACCP) regulations are followed at all times to maintain our processing procedures within federal guidelines.
  • Quality Control: Inspect in-process packaging to ensure consistent quality and remove any defective products and packaging material.
  • Maintenance and Sanitation: Change Juliann dates on machines, perform daily sanitation of all machines, and ensure the water and air compressor are turned on at the beginning of the shift and off at the end of the shift.
  • Work Orders: Review work orders to ensure product is packaged and labeled according to specifications.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Must be able to read and write in English and perform basic mathematics. Ability to read, comprehend, and follow work orders, as well as package and label the product correctly.
  • Skills and Abilities: Must have the sense of responsibility to accomplish tasks without supervision, adapt and react to changing needs and priorities, and adhere to high standards of sanitation and hygiene.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in packaging or other manufacturing operations, operating knowledge of all machines in the packaging room.
