We are seeking a Senior Analyst for Model Governance and Risk to join our Chicago team. This role offers significant growth opportunities for driven and exceptional individuals. The selected analysts will report to a Model Governance Manager and play a critical role in ensuring compliance with both regional and global regulations pertaining to anti-terrorist financing, sanctions, AML, and securities laws related to Model Governance and Risk.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform testing and optimization for AML and Trade Surveillance Reports/Models.
  • Conduct performance evaluations of machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) models.
  • Validate algorithms and programming logic using Python, SQL, and Java.
  • Develop scripts in Python and SQL for quantitative analysis of financial crime data and data quality assessments.
  • When necessary, independently develop ML and other models for validation or internal research purposes.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for tuning reports, schedules, and data analyses.
  • Review ML/AI model documentation to ensure alignment with governance procedures and regulatory standards during testing and tuning.
  • Formulate and update model tuning strategies.
  • Maintain the model governance framework and all associated documentation.
  • Engage in discussions with key stakeholders in model governance and regional leadership to ensure effective oversight of model identification, development, utilization, and evaluation processes.
  • Evaluate model documentation, including development, monitoring, and implementation records, for completeness against established program standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., computer science, physics, mathematics, or engineering).
  • 3+ years of practical experience in programming and/or ML/AI implementation.
  • Basic understanding of AML risks and Trade Surveillance principles.
  • Ability to convey technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Intermediate proficiency in programming languages: Python and SQL.
  • Intermediate knowledge of ML/AI concepts, including model algorithms, feature importance, and sensitivity analysis (precision-recall).
  • Familiarity with Java and Python libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, Plotly, catboost, seaborn).
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively, effectively prioritizing tasks in a dynamic environment.
