Clinical Review Nurse Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Review Nurse to join our team in the Insurance industry in Chicago, Illinois.

Job Summary

This role involves reviewing patient charts to ensure compliance with standards of care. The ideal candidate will have experience with medical record review and be able to apply structured auditing criteria to abstract medical records.

Salary Range

The estimated annual salary for this position is $90,000 - $120,000, depending on experience.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Audit patient charts to ensure compliance with standards of care
  2. Apply structured auditing criteria to abstract medical records
  3. Maintain a high level of productivity with minimal errors in record abstraction and data entry
  4. Adhere to HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies and other relevant corporate and departmental guidelines
Essential Qualifications
  1. RN or LPN/LVN degree
  2. Proven experience in medical record review and utilization review, quality assurance, and/or medical record and site review audits
  3. Familiarity with medical terminology, standard medical practices, formal quality improvement processes, and federal, state, accreditation regulations and standards
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal skills for interacting with physicians and office staff
  5. Proficiency in PC applications, including Word and Excel
