Job Title: Activities Director

Bickford Senior Living is seeking a dedicated and creative Activities Director to join our team. As a key member of our community, you will be responsible for designing and implementing engaging activities that promote the physical, social, and emotional well-being of our residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement activities that cater to diverse interests and abilities, including physical exercise, social events, recreational activities, intellectual pursuits, creative endeavors, and entertainment.
  • Conduct and lead activities as needed, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
  • Develop activities that align with residents' lifestyle choices and preferences.
  • Invite and remind residents to participate in planned activities, promoting a sense of community and social connection.
  • Chaperone activities outside the community, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents.
  • Operate a Bickford vehicle to transport residents to activities, as needed.
  • Train, support, and instruct other team members to conduct activities, promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration.
  • Develop a Monthly Activity Calendar that showcases a diverse range of activities, including evening and weekend events.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement decorations for special events, seasons, and holidays, enhancing the overall aesthetic and ambiance of our community.
  • Coordinate food needs for scheduled activities with the kitchen, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for residents.
  • Operate the activity program within Branch budget guidelines, ensuring fiscal responsibility and accountability.
Qualifications:
  • High-school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in recreation or a related field preferred.
  • Certification in Assisted Living Activities is preferred but required.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel), with the ability to learn new applications.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with residents, staff, and external partners.
  • Competent in organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrate good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • A valid driver's license and a driving record consistent with Bickford's insurance carrier guidelines.
