Job SummaryAs an MRI Technologist, you will work under minimal supervision with physicians to perform MRI imaging exams, exam protocols, accreditation, operations, and facilitation of equipment maintenance.

As an MRI Technologist, your duties will include:
- Reviewing physician orders for accuracy, diagnosis, sedation, and applicability to the MRI protocol
- Screening patients for MRI appropriateness and reviewing any contraindications for exams
- Discussing findings with the physicist and radiologist as applicable
- Documenting changes as appropriate in electronic health records
- Ensuring other resources such as nursing have been scheduled accordingly
- Interviewing patients, conducting patient screening, and obtaining medical history pertaining to procedures
- Explaining procedures and instructing patients on necessary requirements needed to provide diagnostic images
- Assisting physicians as needed in performing procedures
- Ensuring that images and records are properly completed with patient identification data and appropriate labeling
- Utilizing technical knowledge and skills to perform procedures accurately and in a timely manner
- Completing exam charges and image documentation in a timely manner
- Administering intravenous injections of contrast material as appropriate, observing patients for adverse reactions
- Performing MRI ensuring that patients meet safety requirements to MRI contraindications
- Assisting patients in dressing for exams and attending to their physical well-being while transporting to and from exam rooms and positioning for exams
- Instructing/communicating with patients and/or their families regarding the tests to be performed and evaluating their ability to tolerate
- Performing QC testing and reporting problems with MRI systems and workstations to the service engineer/biomed
- Maintaining various data sets and archiving
- Performing post-processing on MRI systems and remote workstations
Requirements for this position include:
- Licenses and Certifications: BASIC LIFE SUPPORT certification, course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) by first day of employment, ARRT-MR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
- Experience: 2 years of MRI experience
