Position Overview: Looking Glass Youth and Family Services is in search of dedicated professionals, either Registered Nurses (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), to provide essential nursing care for adolescents in a specialized psychiatric residential treatment facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a range of pediatric nursing services tailored to the needs of adolescents.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff on various healthcare topics.
  • Manage medication and provide direct care and supervision to clients during assigned shifts.
  • Implement behavior interventions and support clients in a structured environment.

This role adheres to established guidelines, legal requirements, and professional standards, ensuring the safety and well-being of all clients.

Work Schedule: We are currently looking for candidates who can commit to four consecutive 10-hour shifts followed by three consecutive days off.

Compensation: The salary range for RNs is $105,000 to $125,000 per year, while LPNs can expect a range of $80,000 to $90,000 per year.

Incentives: We are pleased to offer a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000.

About the Facility: The Regional Crisis Center (RCC) serves as a subacute residential facility where youth are referred directly from the Department of Human Services. RCC provides comprehensive services including mental health treatment, family counseling, substance use disorder treatment, and educational support.

Clients at RCC often exhibit acute behavioral challenges and may require specialized interventions, including verbal de-escalation techniques and, when necessary, the use of seclusion rooms and restraints to ensure safety.

Qualifications: Candidates must hold a valid nursing license in Oregon, with a preference for those possessing a Bachelor's degree in nursing, although an Associate's degree will also be considered. Experience in an adolescent residential treatment setting or as a psychiatric nurse is highly desirable. Successful candidates must be able to complete crisis intervention training within the first month of employment.
