Job Title: Database Administrator

ValidaTek is seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our database systems to ensure optimal performance and security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement database solutions to optimize current and future applications/systems
  • Provide technical guidance and support for application development and database tuning
  • Monitor and maintain database files, review audit logs, and ensure database sizes, drive space, I/O throughput, memory utilization, and logs are properly maintained
  • Design, create, configure, administer, manage, troubleshoot, diagnose, monitor, and document databases
  • Perform routine disaster recovery testing scenarios and troubleshoot and maintain database performance
  • Establish and maintain database policies and standards
  • Refresh data from one processing environment to another as required
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, system analysis, or a related field, or equivalent experience and a minimum of five years of hands-on design and implementation of databases in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and newer and Oracle 11g and newer
  • At least 3 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Edition and all facets of database administration including migration
  • Experience in Oracle 11g and 12c database architecture, automation, installs, backup & recovery, monitoring, and database query tuning
  • Shell scripting skills
  • Ability to work on site in customer facilities in Brunswick, GA and pass a DHS law enforcement background check
