Job Summary:

ValidaTek is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to provide expertise in the latest Oracle Server and Microsoft SQL Database Administration (DBA). The ideal candidate will design, install, configure, backup, administer, manage, upgrade, troubleshoot, diagnose, test, monitor, and document all databases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical guidance on new database solutions to optimize current or future applications/systems.
• Offer database technical guidance and DBA support for application development.
• Provide database tuning to improve overall performance.
• Offer Oracle or SQL Server general user and administrative support.
• Monitor and maintain database files and review audit logs to identify issues.
• Ensure database sizes, drive space, I/O throughput, memory utilization, and logs are properly maintained to maximize system security and performance levels.
• Design, create, configure, administer, manage, troubleshoot, diagnose, monitor, and document databases.
• Monitor backups on all Server databases.
• Perform routine disaster recovery testing scenarios.
• Troubleshoot and maintain database performance, including proposing short-term fixes and long-term solutions, and scheduling index maintenance and database integrity checks.
• Establish and maintain database policies and standards.
• Refresh data from one processing environment to another as required.
• Develop, follow, and maintain team documentation for repeatable processes, including database feature installation, disaster recovery, and common problem resolution.
• Participate in security audits.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, system analysis, or a related field, or equivalent experience and a minimum of five years of hands-on design and implementation of databases in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and newer and Oracle 11g and newer.
• At least 3 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Edition and all facets of database administration, including migration.
• Experience in Oracle 11g and 12c database architecture, automation, installs, backup & recovery, monitoring, and database query tuning.
• Shell scripting skills.
• Willingness to work on-site in customer facilities in Brunswick, GA.
• Ability to submit to and pass a DHS law enforcement background check.

Salary:

USD $79,648.00/Yr. - USD $132,746.67/Yr.
