Role Overview

We are seeking a highly qualified Associate Teacher to support our nursery curriculum and instruction using Mandarin Chinese language skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and be able to establish a target language classroom conducive to learning.

The successful candidate will support students' social, emotional, and academic growth in both English and Mandarin Chinese languages. They will also support the nursery curriculum for individual, small group, and remedial instruction to meet the language targets of identified students or subgroups of students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support head teachers in preparing and delivering nursery curriculum and instruction using Mandarin Chinese language skills
  • Establish a target language classroom conducive to learning
  • Support students' social, emotional, and academic growth in both English and Mandarin Chinese languages
  • Support nursery curriculum for individual, small group, and remedial instruction to meet language targets
  • Prepare, administer, and assist with assignments
  • Monitor student social and cultural growth to support teaching methodologies
Requirements

We require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Bilingual/Bicultural Education, Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, Chinese Language and Literature, Linguistics, and Applied Linguistics, or a related field. Additionally, one academic year of experience teaching early childhood instruction in an immersion setting is required. The successful candidate must read, write, and speak Mandarin Chinese.
