Job Overview

The Industrial Equipment Maintenance Specialist is responsible for overseeing the upkeep and repair of production machinery and facility systems. This role focuses on both corrective and preventive maintenance, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and support the growth of the maintenance department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with production machinery, including performing troubleshooting and diagnostics on mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Identify problem sources by monitoring machinery performance and listening for irregularities.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager and Engineering team to assess current and future equipment requirements.
  • Plan, organize, and execute routine maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment utilized in manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct regular inspections of machinery, tools, and equipment to ensure operational safety and efficiency.
  • Test, repair, and maintain machinery, equipment, or components as necessary.
  • Interpret and follow schematic diagrams, blueprints, and technical sketches accurately.
  • Utilize computer systems to track maintenance needs, document repairs, and manage the planned maintenance program.
  • Install new machinery as required, ensuring compliance with safety standards and production readiness.
  • Complete various repair and calibration tasks on machinery.
  • Operate machine shop tools such as mills, lathes, drill presses, and band saws.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on building structures and systems.
  • Assist with general maintenance tasks in the plant and office, including carpentry, electrical, and plumbing work as needed.
  • Lift and move items weighing up to 50lbs regularly.
  • Exhibit a willingness to learn new techniques and share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery.
  • Ability to work independently and confidently after training on specific machinery.
  • Prior experience or knowledge of forming presses, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems is advantageous.
  • Technical training or certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and machine shop competencies.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Current forklift certification is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with team members.
