Position Objective
The Housekeeping Specialist is responsible for executing daily cleaning operations in alignment with current federal, state, and local regulations, as well as directives from the Administrator or Senior Director of Nursing. The goal is to maintain a hygienic, secure, and welcoming environment within the facility.
Essential Qualifications
Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
Ability to comprehend, document, and follow both verbal and written instructions.
Must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid Class C Georgia Driver's License along with proof of vehicle insurance, adhering to company policy regarding motor vehicle records.
Compliance with state regulations regarding criminal history checks, including fingerprinting, is mandatory.
Successful completion of drug screening and Tuberculosis testing is required.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine housekeeping tasks and additional assignments as designated; ensure thorough cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting of all facility areas and items, including furniture, fixtures, waste receptacles, windows, floors, and restrooms, utilizing appropriate cleaning agents and techniques.
Maintain cleanliness and safety in work areas, clearly marking hazardous zones with caution signs as necessary; ensure all tools and supplies are securely stored.
Adhere to established safety protocols, including Universal Precautions and infection control measures, while executing housekeeping duties; promptly report any hazardous conditions or equipment issues to the appropriate supervisory personnel.
Uphold resident confidentiality and treat all residents with respect and dignity, ensuring compliance with Resident's Rights regulations.
Follow established cleaning schedules and promptly report any incidents or accidents to the Senior Director of Facilities. In case of emergencies, contact the designated area leader.
Ensure that cleaning equipment and supply carts are maintained in a clean state and properly stored; monitor and report supply inventory levels to the Director of Facilities.
Participate in orientation, training sessions, and staff meetings as required.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

- Regularly required to use hands and arms, talk, and hear; frequently required to sit, stand, and walk; occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, or crawl; must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and/or move up to 75 pounds with assistance. Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. May be required to assist residents in transportation.
