Position Overview

Title: Geriatric Medicine Faculty

Department: Geriatrics

Location: Salt Lake City, UT

Track: Dependent on Qualifications

Position Details:

The Division of Geriatrics within the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Utah is seeking qualified candidates for clinical faculty roles. We welcome applications for both full-time and part-time positions. Responsibilities include providing care in inpatient consultation services and outpatient clinics, as well as supervising Geriatric Medicine Fellows. Faculty members will have opportunities to educate third and fourth-year medical students, as well as Internal or Family Medicine residents. The appointment level will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess an M.D. or D.O. degree and be board certified or eligible in Geriatrics through ABIM or ABFM. All faculty members are expected to engage in the educational mission of the division by participating in seminars, didactic lectures, and clinical conferences.

Clinical Responsibilities:

The faculty will deliver high-quality care to older adults across various settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient programs, home-based chronic care, and long-term care facilities. Our approach aligns with the Age Friendly Health System initiative, focusing on the four Geriatric Ms. The division boasts successful team-based care programs in Geriatric medicine, including a Patient-Centered Medical Home, an Aging Brain Care program for dementia and cognitive disorders, and a Faint and Fall clinic dedicated to mobility issues.
