The College of Nursing at the University of Utah is seeking full-time (1.0 FTE) experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) to join as career-line faculty members capable of instructing in the baccalaureate (BS) program.


Key Responsibilities:

Teaching duties within the prelicensure and/or RN-BS tracks may encompass delivering theoretical content in classroom and/or online formats, overseeing students in clinical environments, and facilitating simulation-based learning.

Teaching assignments will be tailored to the candidate's highest nursing degree, instructional experience, clinical background, certifications, and the educational needs within the College.

Priority areas of clinical expertise include maternal/newborn nursing and acute care nursing.

Faculty members are expected to engage in program development, curriculum writing or revision, serve on college committees, and participate in professional activities and service.

Development of clinically focused scholarship is anticipated for retention and academic advancement.

Qualifications:

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited nursing program and possess a current Utah RN or APRN license or be eligible for licensure in the State of Utah.

Utah is a Nurse Licensure Compact state. Applicants should hold at least a Master's degree in Nursing or a related health field.

Those with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree or those enrolled in a PhD or DNP program will also be considered.

Teaching experience, including classroom, clinical, and simulation settings, is preferred. Relevant healthcare experience, evidence of established clinical expertise, and strong organizational and communication skills are essential. Clinical expertise in maternal/newborn or acute care nursing is desired.

Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with patients and other members of the healthcare and academic teams are crucial.

Applicants must be willing to reside in Utah and work on-site at the College of Nursing and/or at healthcare facilities in the Salt Lake Valley.
