Maintenance Mechanic Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at The Dannon Company. As a key member of our plant team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform skilled repair and maintenance operations using equipment such as hand and power tools, hydraulic presses and shears, welding equipment, and electronic diagnostic tools.
  • Efficiently and successfully perform work assignments based on work assigned by the planner and lead mechanic.
  • Ensure work level and performance is maintained to the highest standard, with regular reviews by the Maintenance Supervisor/Maintenance Manager.
  • Keep complete and accurate records on all maintenance data, including work orders, preventive maintenance, emergency calls, and parts used.
  • Tour and network regularly with other departments to identify needed services or repairs.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and/or evaluation of maintenance policies and procedures.
  • Inspect and monitor work in operational areas to detect and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures, safety rules, and cleanliness.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical or controls issues.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED required; minimum of two (2) years mechanical/electrical maintenance or related-industry experience.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Professionalism and respect in all settings.
