Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our team. As a Mechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling complex mechanical systems, evaluating alignments, fitting and sizing parts, and ensuring that they meet the required specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test complex mechanical systems involving a large number of parts
  • Evaluate the alignments of axes in relation to each other, verifying orthogonality and angular displacement measurements
  • Fitting and sizing parts using lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and other tools
  • Clean and prepare parts for paint
  • Assist in the packing and shipping of equipment to customers
  • Perform field service functions on equipment, both domestically and internationally
  • Assist Quality Control in the calibration and maintenance of the Metrology lab
  • Maintain orderly work area, machines, and equipment
  • Meet budget and schedule requirements

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical School or Machining Apprenticeship is desirable
  • At least one year of mechanical experience is preferred
  • Must have valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel to 10%-15% domestically; occasional international travel may be necessary

Position Type/Physical Demands

The work is generally performed in a shop environment. The position requires walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, and standing in order to perform job duties. Frequent lifting (up to 75 pounds) and moving of heavy parts (weighing up to several tons) is also required.
