We're looking for a talented Rolling Mill Trainee to join our team and help us tackle some of the most challenging problems facing our world.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a general knowledge of all Rolling Mill systems to recognize offset conditions and assist in implementing corrective actions, changes, or adjustments to maintain effective Rolling Mill operations.
  • Direct bundling operations to ensure correct bundle piece counts and number and position of ties.
  • Obtain information concerning order specifications, rolling sequences, piece counts, product length, and bundling perimeters, etc.
  • Make minor adjustments to bundling sequences, such as tyers, back stops, position on surge tables, etc.
  • Become proficient in using all other equipment and tools, including crane rigging and operations, torch, grinder, and pneumatic tools, and other hand tools, to maintain effective Rolling Mill operations.
  • Demonstrate dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs.
  • Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture.
  • Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following safety rules and regulations at all times, including proper wearing of company PPE.
  • Understand start-up, shutdown, and emergency procedures.
  • Troubleshoot work-related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year field experience in either heavy industrial operations and/or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Steel industry experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to work a 12-hour shift, which includes overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with excellent strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for the duration of the shift; frequent physical activity such as walking, climbing stairs, or reaching to work with equipment throughout the entire shift.
  • Ability to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust fumes, and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces.
  • Demonstrates dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to learn quickly and multitask.
  • Strong communication skills required. Must read, speak, and understand English language in verbal and written communication.
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
