What You'll Do

Develop a general knowledge with all Rolling Mill systems so as to recognize offset conditions and assist to implement corrective actions, changes or adjustments to maintain effective Rolling Mill operations Direct bundling operation to ensure correct bundle piece counts and number and position of ties Obtains information concerning order specifications, rolling sequences, piece counts, product length and bundling perimeters, etc Makes minor adjustment to bundling sequence, ie, tyers, back stops, position on surge table, etc Become proficient in using all other equipment and tools (crane rigging and operations; torch, grinder and pneumatic tools; other hand tools; Mill Operation Systems, eg, QMOS, OWS, etc) to maintain effective Rolling Mill operations Demonstrates dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs Participate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture Work safely to prevent on the job injuries by following safety rules and regulations at all times including proper wearing of company PPE Understand start up, shutdown, and emergency procedures Troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others

What You'll Need

Minimum 1 year field experience in either heavy industrial operations and/or manufacturing environment preferred Steel industry experience is preferred Must be able to work a 12 hour shift, which includes overtime, weekends and holidays Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with excellent strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs Ability to stand for duration of shift; frequent physical activity such as walking, climbing stairs or reaching to work with equipment throughout the entire shift Ability to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spaces Demonstrates dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs Basic computer skills Must be able to learn quickly and multitask Strong communication skills required. Must read, speak, and understand English language in verbal and written communication.

High School Diploma or GED preferred
